Kitchen Crown Molding is done!

John worked hard this weekend and completed the crown molding in the kitchen (we still need to do the pantry and the entertainment center...). We also need to figure out what we are going to do with the back splash. It's getting there!!!

We have decided to create a false cabinet to go under the cabinet that is too short (microwave cabinet). We need to order a false door; John will do the rest. He is planning on venting it to the outside of the house; this will be good for the finish on the cabinets. He's amazing! Right now the microwave is in the dining room on the long table.
Here's the wall above the dishwasher. Finished
Here is a close-up of the crown molding with the rope (RIB 8) detail. John was very precise with the cuts. It looks like the rope is continuous even at the corners!
John also installed light molding that goes under the cabinet. He is planning on installing lights under the cabinets. This molding will help hide the fixture. So...what did I do this weekend? Nothing compared to John!

I don't believe it looks like that now. I guess I will need to come out and see it for myself...

How nice to have this all documented for posterity. "What a kitchen can be!"
