John worked hard this weekend and completed the crown molding in the kitchen (we still need to do the pantry and the entertainment center...). We also need to figure out what we are going to do with the back splash. It's getting there!!!
We have decided to create a false cabinet to go under the cabinet that is too short (microwave cabinet). We need to order a false door; John will do the rest. He is planning on venting it to the outside of the house; this will be good for the finish on the cabinets. He's amazing! Right now the microwave is in the dining room on the long table.


Here is a close-up of the crown molding with the rope (RIB 8) detail. John was very precise with the cuts. It looks like the rope is continuous even at the corners!

I don't believe it looks like that now. I guess I will need to come out and see it for myself...
