Updating again

You can read new updates below (links to my sister's blog) of my experiences with my niece and nephews and my own kiddos. I am taking care of my sister's 3 little ones for another 7 +/- weeks while she recovers from a staph infection from a back surgery. The little ones have survived me for 6 weeks already! It has been a great journey. It has been fun to see the kids grow and develop and to have a baby in the house again!

I am journaling our day on our private family website for my sister and brother-in-law. Shannon is posting my journaling on her blog - I just don't have the time to do it on my own blog.

Thanks for posting this stuff on your blog Shannon-bow!

The stage: Older sister. Younger sleeping brother - who fell asleep before leaving the parking lot of the church on Sunday.

The props: Sour Spray, innocent sleeping brother with his mouth open and innocent "looking" sister...

Do you think he liked it? He kept sleeping through it and Jaley did it several times for our photo op. Poor kiddo...

Kerst's special day!

Kerst was baptized today! He has been so excited for this day to come. He was beaming from ear to ear.
Both sets of grandparents were able to attend along with Aunt Emily V, cousins Jenny, Peter, Christina and her husband Brooke and little girl Isobel (Uncle Rod had to work last minute). Aunt Sarah, Uncle Aaron W and cousins Kimball, Simon and Eleanor were also able to attend. Uncle Aaron's younger sister, Laura - and sister of my sweet friend Staci, also attended.

It was a very nice family affair. (Notice Conner is "Connie" for the picture...he had a diaper explosion and the end of the baptism and ended up wearing Kaylee's pink sweater - Kaylee is wearing a new pretty pink dress)

Julia and Cousin Jenny sang I am a Child of God while Aunt Emily played the violin and Cousin Christina played the piano. That is Kerst's favorite primary song.

Grandma M gave the talk on baptism. She had Kerst, Jaley and Julia read scriptures that explained the importance of baptism.

Grandpa P gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. He walked up to the front and pulled a chair right up to Kerst. He told everyone else they could leave or they could listen in on the little talk he was going to give to Kerst. It was really sweet.

John baptized and confirmed Kerst. The Grandpas and cousin Brooke stood in as well as Bro. S. from the bishopric to confirm Kerst a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and give him the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Sis. M, the Primary President, shared a message with Kerst. She explained to everyone how she remembers Kerst's name. She has noticed how Kerst is so kind and loving to others...he Cares (t) for others... Kerst. Perfect. That is exactly Kerst.

Bro. S, from the bishopric, also shared some nice words with Kerst reminding him that he has parents and teachers as well as the Holy Ghost to help guide him back to his Heavenly Father.

We are so proud of Kerst for making this important step in his life by becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be a wondeful example and a great disciple of Jesus Christ.

Yes, it was a very special day... and it was nice because I could just sit back and enjoy it (along with loving my extra little friends with help from the Grandparents)

To top it off, it was closing night for AIDA... Kerst had 7 extended family members attend to watch and cheer for him during curtain call (and cheering Jaley and Julia as well).

Julia's Understudy Role

Julia is the under-study for "Amneris" in Aida. Last week the girl who plays Amneris was ill and unable to perform during the rehearsal (no, not the actual show night). Julia stepped in and wowed everyone! It was her first time saying the lines and acting the role. She was AMAZING! She looked like a princess.

(Julia is wearing a nude body suit under this strapless dress. It had to be pinned as she is smaller than her friend who has the main role)

Updating

I am too busy to post the happenings with my extra friends. I have been posting on our private family website in the evenings so that Shannon and David know what we have done during the day. I have been trying to take pictures too...Shannon has been posting my "thoughts" on her blog along with the photos I have taken.

Thanks Shannon for doing this! I will post links to the journal entries so you can see that I am not slacking too much...

Enjoy our moments during this busy time!
