Homecoming Dress Shopping

Julia is going to go to the Homecoming Dance with a group of her friends. She and her friend went dress shopping on Saturday and took me along...sort of.

Julia found two dresses she liked. She tried them on and showed me, via picture text. She found two different dresses that we need to "modist"fy. She looks stunning in both.

This dress is a simple black one that has a pretty flare for the skirt. We would make a silver shrug for it. She decided not to go with it...it was on the wrong rack; it wasn't on sale. Smart girl!

Julia found this dress on the sale rack and it had a little mark on the fabric below the knee to the side. She showed the sales person and had another discount added! Way to go Julia! It is a beautiful blue dress. Very sophisticated. It goes to the floor and has a small train in the back. We are going to tack up the train in the back so it doesn't get stepped on while she dances. She looks very elegant in it and it makes her blue eyes reallly pop! We are going to make a silver shrug for this dress. That is my project today...get the supplies ready for her to sew!

Julia has another dress in her closet she might wear to Homecoming and save this one for a winter dance.

Wow, looks great! And that's awesome that she's going to sew it, too! :-)
