The Popular Table

Kerst was telling us during dinner that a table was moved at school. The back table was moved to the front. Just to tease him, we asked him what the old front table is called now (the middle?). He said that it is called the "popular table". Wow. 2nd grade and they are aware of that.

We then proceeded to ask him if he knew what popular meant. He said he did. He said it is the table where "the people who don't know anything sit".

Julia and Blakelee started laughing. Julia piped in and said, "Hey, that's where I should sit because I don't know anything."

Then one of us added to the requirements of the "popular table". The popular table is where the cute and good looking sit. Dad added to Julia's comment that she should definitely sit at that table because she is very cute and good looking.

Kerst thought about it some more and then said, "The popular table is where the people sit when they think everyone likes them."
