Our Christmas -2008

We had a nice Christmas. We visited family. Stayed up late. Played games (Curse is SO MUCH FUN!)....

I think we have become smarter parents. We asked Santa about 7 years ago to please bring breakfast when he stops in at our house. He started leaving the small cereal boxes with juice bottles and various other goodies we would probably never buy. This year he added toaster strudel to the menu. YUM!

About 6 years ago we told Santa that we appreciated all he did and asked if we could give the kids the "cool stuff" they really wanted (and only if we agreed to it. Jenna still hasn't gotten a live horse for Christmas)... That was the year Julia was disappointed on Christmas Morning because there wasn't a shiny new flute next to her stocking from Santa (Santa doesn't wrap his gifts). She was thrilled when she opened her last gift! We were cool parents that year. We did the same thing the following years - thanks Santa. Yes, Santa leaves fun (and cool) stuff...he just lets us be the cool parents every once in awhile.

This year Santa gave a family gift. We are all rockin' out to Rock Band (actually, I am a spectator).

How fun to see Uncle Bob!!!
We grew up playing Carrom too...must be a family thing. My brother Steve has our family's board now though.

Santa has also been leaving cereal boxes and juice in our stockings the last two years! He lets us parents give the cool stuff too. :)
