Kerst was baptized today! He has been so excited for this day to come. He was beaming from ear to ear.
Both sets of grandparents were able to attend along with Aunt Emily V, cousins Jenny, Peter, Christina and her husband Brooke and little girl Isobel (Uncle Rod had to work last minute). Aunt Sarah, Uncle Aaron W and cousins Kimball, Simon and Eleanor were also able to attend. Uncle Aaron's younger sister, Laura - and sister of my sweet friend Staci, also attended.
It was a very nice family affair. (Notice Conner is "Connie" for the picture...he had a diaper explosion and the end of the baptism and ended up wearing Kaylee's pink sweater - Kaylee is wearing a new pretty pink dress)
Julia and Cousin Jenny sang I am a Child of God while Aunt Emily played the violin and Cousin Christina played the piano. That is Kerst's favorite primary song.
Grandma M gave the talk on baptism. She had Kerst, Jaley and Julia read scriptures that explained the importance of baptism.
Grandpa P gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. He walked up to the front and pulled a chair right up to Kerst. He told everyone else they could leave or they could listen in on the little talk he was going to give to Kerst. It was really sweet.
John baptized and confirmed Kerst. The Grandpas and cousin Brooke stood in as well as Bro. S. from the bishopric to confirm Kerst a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and give him the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Sis. M, the Primary President, shared a message with Kerst. She explained to everyone how she remembers Kerst's name. She has noticed how Kerst is so kind and loving to others...he Cares (t) for others... Kerst. Perfect. That is exactly Kerst.
Bro. S, from the bishopric, also shared some nice words with Kerst reminding him that he has parents and teachers as well as the Holy Ghost to help guide him back to his Heavenly Father.
We are so proud of Kerst for making this important step in his life by becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be a wondeful example and a great disciple of Jesus Christ.
Yes, it was a very special day... and it was nice because I could just sit back and enjoy it (along with loving my extra little friends with help from the Grandparents)
To top it off, it was closing night for AIDA... Kerst had 7 extended family members attend to watch and cheer for him during curtain call (and cheering Jaley and Julia as well).
