Ouch

Our front bumper recently gained a dent in it. Today it was finished off.

I was hit by a semi-truck.

Don't worry. It is a very boring account and thankfully no injuries!

What happened? I was in a double left turn lane. I was in the left lane. The semi was in the right. I knew he wouldn't have enough room to make the turn with me right next to him so I stayed behind at the "stop line". He turned and his left rear fender ripped the bumper and fender on the passenger front side of my van.

Julia was my passenger so it was nice to have a witness ... and a time to teach her what to do in a time of emergency.

Swam Fast!

Jenna swam with the best of the best yesterday in All Stars (kind of like "State" swimming competition).

She was last in her heat but the final lap she pulled ahead of one girl and almost tied with the next.

She has a gorgeous stroke and it is fun to watch her turn up the speed on the last 50 yards.

We are so proud of her!!!

Swim faster!

Jenna made All-Star time for the 200 free. She is competing against 27 other teams with qualifying swimmers today.

I love watching her swim. She is so beautiful and graceful - she makes it look so easy.

Good luck Jenna!

I will update you on the happenings soon.

We miss our family. We miss our boys.

Rocked it!

Julia got her AP scores back. Colleges and universities give college credit to students who score high on their AP tests - a score of a 3 will give credit in some classes. A score of a 4 or 5 is even better with what the university will give credit for. It varies according to the university. 5 is the highest score you can get.

She got a 4 on her AP Language test.

She got a 5 on her AP Psychology test!

Good job girl!

New pics

We love silly pictures (just refer back to our Christmas Card Photo Shoots in 2009, 2008, 2007, and not so silly in 2006) so we did a goofy photoshoot with the kids at the pool. Unfortunately some of the images were blurry (Kelly needs to help me with my manual settings).

With cool editing techniques (no, they did not all jump at once ... I'm not that good!), we ended up with this group photo ...

Before

After

I think we might try "take two" when Aunt Kelly is here!

Visitors

We have had a lot of fun with visitors this past week. Cousins and more cousins!
On Friday night we had 15 kids and 6 adults staying at our house ...
and my dear friend Tammy G. from High School came over on Saturday for a BBQ with her 2 beautiful daughters - Tara and Tessa - and wonderful husband Chris!
We had a houseful ... and boy was it fun! I'm glad we didn't scare Tammy and her family away!

Kendall really enjoyed playing with his cousins! (He is still trying to figure out how to share ... he is the boss of the toys at our house).

ACT ... ing up

Julia took the ACT again. There is a new writing portion that has been added to the test that is "Highly Recommended" in several universities. BYU is one of them.

She got a 32 this time around (30 the first time)! She is top 99% in our state! Way to go Jules!
