Prom 2009

What can I say? She was the most beautiful girl that night! My friend, Wendi, has one rule. I like that rule too. I altered it ... I went to his house to take the pictures. Not many parents were there ... hopefully they are following Wendi's rule too and took pictures at their own home. Who would want to miss out on this photo opportunity?!

Asked to Prom!!!

Julia was asked to the prom with a really sweet note and a dozen roses from her friend Alex.

Here is how Julia replied.

Will I go to the DANCE with you?
It's a mystery to me!
just count the candies and you will see.
If there are more skittles,
then my answer is
YES!
If there are more m&ms ...
....then tough luck,
I guess.

She dropped them off at his house on a Saturday afternoon .... Ding Dong Ditch ... and boy does he have a LOOOOOOOONG driveway!

He spent quite a bit of the afternoon counting. Julia received a text from Alex ... "Why are there more M&M's in the jar?" Julia replied ... "count again, silly."

The answer? There were equal amounts of skittles and m&m's in the jar. Alex said that the yellow skittles and m&ms were hard to tell apart. Plus he said that his mom and brother, Chris, would take some. He would ask them what it was they took and kept track.

Julia showed up at his door after he finished the counting with a HUGE jar of Skittles. Her answer? YES, of course ... silly!

Just for the record, this was on April 11. Prom was last weekend. I will update you with some photos ...

National News

"Julia made national news." John told me this morning when I woke up.

Wow. Word travels fast. I knew she was a great singer!

The news was about travelers being stranded on I-70 (they were coming back from a Grand Junction Music Competition and got stranded). If only the news anchors could hear their #1 rated singing voices ... that would be the top story on National News! Their singing would be worth stopping traffic!

Top rating

Julia called and told me that her Women's Select Choir group got the rating of a "one" at the competition today!

Her group is amazing! She is amazing!

Today during dinner Jenna and Julia were singing the National Anthem and harmonizing. It was really fun to hear them sing together. Jenna has an amazing voice as well.

Random Thought from Jaley

Out of the blue during dinner Jaley said, "Wow. Ebay is pig latin for bee."

This reminds me of the goofy Head and Shoulders commercials - random thoughts.

Potty Trained

My boys did it! They are potty trained! Cade (My sister Shannon's little boy) runs and tells me when he has to go. Kendall has a bladder of steel and holds it forever. I usually just put him on the potty every 3 to 4 hours ... (so maybe he isn't potty trained completely, but he hasn't had an accident in over 5 days!).

Not bad for boys. Cade turned 3 in January. Kendall turns three at the end of June. I don't miss their diapers!

Catching up

I'm catching you up ....

Read my journaling here for March 27 (potty training adventures, Kaylee is dry!)

here for March 30 (summary of Spring Break, update on potty training),

here for March 31 (developmental differences, dealing with honesty, Kendall waking up dry, etc...),

here for April 1 (no fooling ... they were up early! 5:45 a.m. - my VT companion - dear friend Candace M. from Naperville and moved out here into our ward shortly after we did - called and told me she was bringing me dinner. So sweet! Boys playing with princesses ... super cute video I took!)

My sister, Kelly, put the video up I took of the boys playing with Kaylee's princesses on her blog here. They are boys!

You can read my journaling here for April 2 (and see some video Shannon took of Conner while we were visiting on the web cam)
