John and I were able to attend the sealing of Casey and Robert V. this last Saturday. It was a wonderful ceremony with some beautiful counsel and instruction. Each wedding sealing I attend, I leave wanting to do even more and do even better. She was beautiful; he was beaming.
The reception was held at Casey's parents' home. Yummy food all cooked on the grill. Sausage, chicken, Tri-tip, French Bread. WOW. They even grilled during the rain and drizzle.
And then the CAKE! On most of the tables set up inside their home, a cake was the center piece. Part way through the reception we were able to cut the cake and then go "cake shopping" at the other tables. There were at least 5 choices. Chocolate cake with raspberry, chocolate cake with cherry, white cake with strawberry and white cake with Bavarian Cream. I thought the cake on our table was the best. It was a sponge cake with a light lemony filling...it tasted more like cream cheese than it did lemon. The cake was HEAVENLY! I believe they were made at a local Dutch Bakery.
