Jazz Choir Auditions ... Jenna

Jenna auditioned for Jazz Choir (the top choir in the High School) on Monday.

She received word last night that she had a call back this morning.

We just found out that she made it!  10 boys 12 girls

All State Auditions

It is that time of year again ...

Julia auditioned for All State Classical Choir today.  She felt much better about the audition this year than she did last year (she was the only one who made All State Choir last year from her High School!).

We will find out around Thanksgiving if she made it into the choir.

All State Auditions

It is a busy schedule ... for Julia. She is auditioning today for All State Choir - Classical. We are excited she has had so many opportunities to excel in music. Go Jewlz ... sing your heart out - and touch theirs!

All State Jazz Auditions

Julia is doing a taped audition for the All State Jazz Choir today! We won't hear about call backs until November. She has been taking Jazz voice lessons and has fallen in love with this genre. I love to hear her practice!

Aida

Julia received word today that she is the understudy for Amneris (the part she wanted!). She is SUPER SUPER SUPER excited! She is looking forward to working with the other cast members in making this an amazing musical.

This is a great opportunity for her as a sophomore. Her really good friend is the understudy for Aida.

We are so proud of her!

Julia auditions again...for the Continental League

Julia auditions for the Continental League today (a choir group of students consisting of a large region in our area). This choir allows students who are not old enough to participate in All State Choir an opportunity to participate and prepare for that experience.

Next year Julia will audition for All State Jazz and All State Choir.

Julia auditions today!

Julia is very nervous for her audition today after school for the musical You're A Good Boy, Charlie Brown. This is not normal for her...the nervous part. There are only eight parts in the musical with two of them being girls - Sally and Lucy - so I can see why she is nervous. She also mentioned that her teacher already has in mind who she wants for the parts so she has to really "WOW" her. She is trying out for Sally, Charlie Brown's little sister. She has found a monologue from Hello, Dolly! to present and has two songs from YAGB, Charlie Brown learned in a character voice (Belting).

It is a different sound for her and is amazing to me. Her voice teacher has been working with Julia in developing different genres with her singing. Broadway/stage voices are different from her choir voice. I have really enjoyed listening to her practice for this audition.
